A Church planting & revitalization conference

May 8-9 | Cleveland, TN

RECONNECTING CHRIST AND CULTURE

Secularization is causing cultural shifts. Over the past decade, research has shown that people are fleeing organized religion in increasing numbers. While many still believe in God there is an increasing number of people who are rejecting any sort of religious affiliation. During this time the church hasn’t always known how to respond to these shifts in cultural mindsets and, in many cases, has lost its voice in culture. This is not who God has called us to be, and as a result, many church leaders are being stirred by the Holy Spirit to respond.

This is why we have created the REWIRE Conference. It is the launching pad for church planters and leaders of existing churches in need of revitalization to unify through training, encouragement, and spiritual renewal and gain insight and direction for the churches they are leading or planting. REWIRE is bringing together experienced leaders who will be sharing ideas and insights during keynote and breakout sessions alike that will challenge and inspire you and your team in your work to share the Gospel in your local contexts.

The primary objective of the gospel is “that none should perish”. The gospel is a connecting force. This training session includes the presentation of what steps are needed to become a church that is active and visible in the community as well as how and when the new church plant officially organizes as a Church of God congregation and addresses the, “Where do I go from here?” question of the church planting training participants.

Session 1: What is Church Revitalization?

God can pump life into dead and dying things! He specializes in reviving things once thought dead. That’s the message taught by Lazarus! We might be down for the count, but God is again breathing life into His church.

Church Revitalization is the recovery of lost vitality. During this session students, will learn about the recipe for church health, the results of church disease and the power of reclaimed vitality.

Session 2: Healthy Church

If health is a choice than we must choose health over disease. We must draw a line in the sand and declare that, from this moment forward, we refuse to simply go through the motions. You must refuse to lead a dying church! How can we do that?

‘Healthy Church’ focuses on 7 Activities that took place in the first 6 chapters of the book of Acts. The early church was healthy, vibrant and growing. Students will learn from the example set by first century Christians.

Session 3: 7 Prime Indicators

Churches continue to struggle with the health issue. Leaders understand the need to be healthy but do not always know how to gauge or diagnose their condition. Often, we sense something is out of sorts but how do we pinpoint the issue and how do we cure the disease?

Thankfully there are church barometers and indicators that can be used to help determine our current condition. ‘7 Prime Indicators’ will walk students through the 7 different indicators of a healthy church

Session 4: PULSE Your Church

For centuries church leaders have attempted to measure and define a ‘mature’ church. Our terminology is more contemporary today, but the goal remains; how do we determine our overall viability? How do we measure our effectiveness? Is there a way to test our health?

The answer is yes. Our Church Health Pulse uses seven different categories to determine the overall health of the church. These categories include vision, leadership, administration, discipleship, evangelism, friendship and worship.

Session 5: Leadership in Revitalization

Today, more than ever before God is calling men and women to lead the local church in revitalization. Without the emergence of spiritual leaders who are willing to work in the trenches many of our churches will die. The revitalization of our churches will not happen in the absence of leadership.

‘Leadership in Revitalization’ focuses on the work of Nehemiah and the rebuilding of the wall. Students will be introduced to four balance points that are vital to our own rebuilding project.

Session 6: Mission in Revitalization

What’s life like in your city? I’m not referring to upscale neighborhoods, manicured golf courses and fine dining. Jesus said it’s the sick ones who need a doctor. I’m asking about the critical conditions and pressing needs that exist right outside of your church doors.

Within your reach are the sick, the broken, and the addicted; and they are desperately seeking some relief. We must provide them relief in Jesus name! During this session, students will learn about missional opportunities that wait just around the corner of your church.

Session 7: Your Demographic Profile

Our neighborhoods are in a constant state of change. God is sending the nations to our cities. Per the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, 214 million people all over the world moved out of their country of origin. Of those, 20% (42.8 million) moved to the United States.

Demographics provide statistical data. When we study a community, we draw meaning from it. We develop an interest. What follows is a burden to connect with people in authentic ways. To impact their lives with the Gospel. This session will provide a demographic approach that will prove to be a game-changer.

Session 8: Staying Connected

This workshop focuses on creating caring connections through Prayer, Friendship and Serving others. People who connect with God, a few close friends and serve together will stay connected in the church. Discover the power of “triads” as we explore the “Connect 3” method to building a healthy connected church.
